Welcome Movie Review
'Welcome’ is a comedy starring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif as two lovers facing strong opposition to their marriage because of the entirely different backgrounds of their families. The movie begins on a promising not with nana patekar, the boss of the city, trying to find suitable match for his sister from a "shareef" family. But the movie falters midway with too much of slapstick comedy and poor jokes.
Welcome is the story about Paresh Rawal wanting to find a girl for his nephew Akshay Kumar. He wants a girl whose family is clean and has no police records. Unfortunately, Akshay falls for Katrina Kaif, who is the sister of two notorious characters in the city, Nana Patekar and Anil Kapoor.
Boy likes girl, girl likes boy, but uncle wants out. In the meanwhile, Anil Kapoor has spotted Akshay on the streets and wants him for his sister, not knowing that the two have already met. The clip where he (Anil) and Nana Patekar combine to con Paresh Rawal in getting Akshay married to their sister is hilarious. There’s also Feroze Khan, the Bigger Don who resides somewhere in Italy.
The introductory scenes of Nana Patekar ,Anil ,and Paresh are comedy filled . Specially the one liners which the characters deliver are interesting and applaudable.
The director makes sure to open three more surprises Vijay raaz, Feroz khan and Mallika sherawat who are introduced in the first half, but don’t have much scope in the beginning. The sequence between Nana and Mallika, and Anil & Mallika will surely make the audience laugh especially in the funeral scene which is shot with a comic touch.
