 Saawariya Movie Review
To put it briefly, the film’s beautiful form obliterates the inherent love and pathos in the story. And ‘Saawariya’ ends up as a unique study in the art of cinematography, but an average film that falls short of providing what it promised.
The anonymous town of ‘Saawariya’ is like a dream world where houses and buildings stand beside wide canals with gondolas rowing by. Ranbir Raj ( Ranbir Kapoor ) , an amateur singer, cycles in straight into a red light area and sings a song that brings some cheer to the prostitutes. That is his character. A smiling handsome lad with hair falling over his forehead, he brings smiles on the faces of those he meets. Among them is prostitute Gulab ( Rani Mukherjee ) who begins to like, even love, him in the course of the story.

 Om Shanti Om stars Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone in pivotal roles. The magic combination of Shah Rukh Khan - Farah Khan comes together again after the huge success of Main Hoon Na. The film's score and soundtrack has been composed by the musical duo, Vishal-Shekhar with lyrics by Javed Akhtar. Cinematography for the movie is by V. Manikandan whilst editing is handled by Shirish Kunder.
Om Shanti Om is a story of love, dreams, betrayal and destiny revolving around a film actor ‘Om’ (Shah Rukh Khan) and his love interest ‘Shanti’ (Deepika Padukone). Om was a junior artist and Shanti a superstar in the 1970’s. He was her biggest fan. She was his biggest inspiration.
The film has over 30 of Bollywood's hottest stars including Salman Khan, Rani Mukherjee, Kajol, Sanjay Dutt, Priyanka Chopra, Preity Zinta, Saif Ali Khan and many more putting in a guest appearance. Om Shanti Om, produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and directed by Farah Khan on 9th November 2007. Eros is expected to release the film across an unprecedented 2000 plus screens worldwide.
