Replying to a topic !

If you are a registered member and are logged in (use the login box near the top).. then you are capable of replying in a given topic.. of your choice ! At the end of every topic.. the quick reply key u see..(given in the image below) is to enable you to respond in a topic !

Creating a new New Topic

Go to any board index by clicking on board name in main index and then click new topic to create a new topic.. ! (Make sure you are posting New topic in the relevant Section !)

Just a minute..Before creating any new topic.. you should check whether the material which you are going to post is already been posted  ?  Use the Search topic .. Key to conform .. if its existing or not ! If  No .. then you can move ahead to post the new topic.. !

(Note: If your topic is found as a repost then either your topic will be locked or will be merged with the existing topic !)



User friendly Links  

At the top of your page, you will find two links.. which will help you to have a quick look at those topics where you have replied and to the new topics which have been created since your last visit !

And yes.. as a member of FOTN team now.. you should also take part in welcoming new members.. who post their Introduction ! A simple welcome can encourage the new bees to post  !  Two things to kept in mind while welcoming new members.. is the DATE when the intro. topic was posted ! First the rules..

Just browse the picture you want to insert.. !This can be done by clicking the + sign next to additional options.. and you wont have to visit any ImageHosting site ! :)

Good topic.

Just wanted to add that mostly all sections have a topic which shows guidelines or FAQs about that particular section.

Every new member should make it a point to visit that topic and understand the guidelines of that particular section.

It hardly takes a couple of minutes :)

U will be given the power to give Karmas to members and even PM them after u have 20 posts...coz after 20 posts' ur title  will be shown as  "Fotn leaner"

As for starting a new topic ..All u got to do is first clik on  "Home" as shown here

Then u will see a list of various Sections like these..its up to u to decide as to in which Section does ur Topic belong to for eg; pics go in the Image Room

lets see u wanted to start a topic on Word of the Day rite...so i guess u r gonna post a word everyday with its meaning and a sentence...so i think its more suitable For Students Section  ...so all u need to do is clik on Students Section  as shown here

there u will find various topics related to it..to start a new topic clik on the option available called New Topic as shown here, jus clik on it and u will find the following:

That's informative, but I'd rather u had some 'help' links on every section. At the moment I'm still trying to understand FOTN and at times find it too hard to go anywhere, but I know I'll learn gradually. Thanks for the hard work put in by ya guys to start such a funsite and all these guidelines  :)

You can see a list of boards on the Forum index - http://www.funonthenet.in/forums/

Then go to the board you want to go, for example Poetry English - http://www.funonthenet.in/forums/index.php?board=20.0
Poetry Hindi - http://www.funonthenet.in/forums/index.php?board=21.0 etc.

Then Click on 'new topic', write your poem, put in a subject and click post, thats it :)

Other people give you karma when you make good posts :)

You can give others karma by clicking on the green up arrow you will see in every post. You cannot give yourself karma.

Now as you have 25 posts, you can give karmas to others.. Just the post you like of the member there are two arrows..

Green one means +ve karma given when you like someones post.. Red one means -ve Karma given when you don't like someones post.. remember to give reason for both.. :)
