OK Guys, here are a few tips on how you can write poems....
Well there are different types of poems and differnt forms of poems... with diferent rhyming schemes.... And all....
Here are a few tips which will enable you to write small poems.... Of course, as you write more and more of 'em, you'll become an expert....
1. Decide on a subject to write a poem. This is probably one of the toughest things and sadly most of the time the whole poem writing project fails at this point.
Love is one of the most common subject and so is friendship.... Extremely popular. Other then these two, there are a thousands of subjects... Hate, My Boss, Stree Dog, Tsunami, My Job Sucks... etc etc
2. Decide the mood of your poem...
You could write a serious poem, or something really funny. Or, you could write a sleazy poem (which would of course have to be posted in the Mature Section of FOTN)... You could write a poem with pessimistic bend to it or an optimistic bend to it. It could be in first person or third person.....
3. Once the subject and mood has been decided, collect all applicable properties of the subject and your poem...Write down any catchy phrases about the subject. These will come in handy when you write down your poem properly. Be liberal with popular quotes...
4. Depending on your rhyming scheme, you would want to rhyme some words.... For the beginning you could use the online rhyming dictionary at www.poetry4kids.com

5. Now, finally, put your thoughts on paper. Move the lines around and just play around with he words. Try NOT to use too many complicated words. The simpler the poetry the better....
6. That's it for now. Post your poem in the poetry section of FOTN.... And get karmas!!

Well frag, the idea is nice. U seem to hav made it very simple. But dont u think that poetry is something very spontaneous? Its kinda natural flow, nd when it decides its course, theres no stopping to it. I dont think it can be built up like a piece of architecture. Its natural. I may sound a bit sarcastic, forgive me 4 that, but this is the way i always felt abt poetry nd poems.

Yes, my friend, you're right... Poetry is spontaneous... But many times people themselves do not know that they have the gift... and what good way but to start out with these tips.... Thereafter, they just need to gain confidence and the natural process will take over!!

Poety.....One should not put into writing a set way for poetry to be born. Yes born; it is a result of the creation of an individual just as a child is. With it's own unique qualities just as the personality of a child. No one can disrupt the flow once it starts. It is to come just as a child is born when it is ready to immurge from it's mothers womb.. The creation behind a poem is only brought on from a true creative person. It is true that many study they art of poetry and structure but did all poets come from a poetry of collages teaching such. Not always likely so those of you who feel you have something to say through your poetry it comes from with in your crativeness as a seed comes from the man flowing forward to the egg to bring forth life. You have brought forth a poem so name it well as you would your child. Oddie
