Choosing a career: listen to yourself

Many of us face the dilemma when an age old question crops up about choosing the right professional career.
Most of us ,scared of left behind,follow mob-choices with no relevence to personal liking;thus killing the inherent sensibility,our own expectations and desires in the process.
Though there are exceptions to this mobocracy and these exceptional young men and women are those who know for certain what they want from their life and thus are able to charter the roadmap of their life.
The larger chunk of younger generation faces utter confusion all around passing thro scores of repetitive discussions with parents and other seniors hell bent in brain washing exercise for forcing their choices.
Yes one must listen to parents,friends and others who give counseling with good intentions but it is always essential and equally imprtant to analyse what do u want to do in life ahead?
You have to analyse what u enjoy doing most,what's ur aptitude,your inclinations and genuine interests in life.
One has to remember that what u do,if you enjoy doing it,your efforts becomes play.
Don't succumb to parent's pressures or opt for money spinning jobsalone.First see whether u really feel inclined to do it to enjoy life ahead before choosing a career.
You are the person who has to decide ,whether u 'll do it or leave it aside,u are the person who has to make up your mind whether u will like to lead or remain a follower.Whether u would like to attempt a goal at a far distance or you would prefer to stand where ever you are

Well choosing a career is always about listening to urself. And then making a commitment.
My parents have ALWAYS made sure I never am stressed with anything they want me to do.
They always just advise me.. and I first analyse myself.. keeping mum dad'z sugestion as an option too.,
I make a decision.
I believe all of us.. Should have this freedom and give the coming generation too.. Chance of making their own choices..coz afterall.. They r suppose to do it..

When it comes to decision making what I follow is "Listen to all .... but utlimately take my own stand".
Regarding my career ..... I wasted 3 years of my career in doing a job in which I found myself stuck up with things which I was least interested. It was a career decision taken by my close people which involved even my parents.
It was after that I took a different option and now in 4 years I am at the peak of my career.
What I mean to say is If we really wish to reach somwhere .... listen to what our Conscience tell us. No body in the world can sense our capabilities and limitations then we ourselves. So ultimately the decision has to be ours. If ever it goes wrong atleast it shows us our decision making capibilty which helps us life long.

Very enlightening post.It's very good to know that ur parents have ALWAYS made sure that u never got stressed with anything which they want u to do.Thus they limited their role to an advisor and u also kept equal regard to their advise but ultimately u take a decision.That's how a healthy relationship between children and parents develope.And now u also intend to pass on the baton with the same spirit.+K to u for this frank biographical note which should serve as an example to others.
What happens that parents want their own frustrated dreams to actulise thro their children and children because of the parental pressure get heavily stressed and commit the mistake of choosing a career totally unsuitable to their aptitude and liking. Young children should therefore must analyse thier own genuine interest and capability first and then depending on their inclination should gather courage to resist pressure from their near-ones and listen to the voice of self to avoid disaster subsequently.
