Whether Marriage is still a necessity?

Recently I read a comment of a progressive liberated person which I want to share with friends:

"if a man and woman decide to live together without going though the ritual of a social ceremony called marriage,I think it is absolutely fine"

Now in India too specially in big Metros, the trend of live in relationship is catching fast. The till- death-do - us- part mindset is fast changing to till inconvenience-do-us part mentality.People feel that Marriage is no longer a Janam Janam ka saath requirement.People now prefer to replace partners to repairing relationships.

Famous social activist Shobhaa De has commented that the dynamics of marriages have changed mainly because women are now financially independent and therefore in a position to question the old chauvinist order created mainly by men.
Thus Women who have now  certain amount of bying power and dispensing power too find some space to decide which type of relationship they wish to choose. They feel that they can also choose partnerships as per their convenience.
We may be  fast approaching a time when the conventional idea of marriage may not be the core of an individual's identity specially a woman's .

Living together with Marriage or  without marriage is fine so far as two individuals' chioce is concerned but what shall be the future of conceptions taking place even by accident?
Abortion or a chid out of wedlock?
Both way it's the woman who shall have to bear the brunt.

Marriage in India, in my opinion, has a very different reality....... In India and China arranged marriages are ingrained into the way of life....... with the motivating factors behind marriage being bridewealth, dowry, and working through the caste system in India's case. You'll even find 'marriage parlors' in India.

I said earlier that the Marriage is ingrained into the way of life, and this way of life is changing now....The life has become faster than ever......Short term happenings is what people run after now a days.....that is what happens with relationships as well.......average age of a man is decreased to  a mere of 65-70 whereas two-three decades ago it was near 75. Everything has started happening at a fast pace and relationships also have the effects of it. This is the main reason why this Live-in culture is catching in the Metros.....and to some extent....to catch up with the fast moving life.......I think it is not a bad Idea.
