Is it justified to rebel against the strangulating systems of our country?

yayaavar:
I'm posting a new topic with full realisation that as usual very few would respond yet I consider worth raising the above  question not for poll but for getting views from all those who care for this country and canrise a bit above from FUN:

After freedom it was expected that we Indian shall not only be politically free but mentally too but it has not happened.
*All our systems are supressive.
*Politcal systems though under the garb of democracy are more supressive than Britishers'
*Education systems framed by Lord Macauley to create survile Babus to serve Britishers are still in vogue    all    over India as a result frustration is writ large on the face of young indians.
*Economic systems though are creating wealth abundently but limiting it to a few hands where as large majority is getting poorer.
*Babus in Govt' offices treat commoners as their slaves unless u show them money to purchase them and the archive systems which they are following .
*Indian Police all over the country brutally beats and kills innocent though they are not authorised to do so even in case of suspects.Their behaviour is same as it was during the times of British regime .
*British had few records of Jallianwala Bagh but free India have the records of hundreds of Jalianwala bagh with no one to shed tears.
*Judicial systems are outdated where for getting justice one has to borne twice and possess good load of money too at least in  lower courts.
*Seperatism in the name caste and creed and religion is being fulled by Politicians for political gains and commonnors are giving lives in plenty in the name of divisive politics.

What should a common indian do under such conditions.

Keep quite endlessly and go on suffering?

Or raise voice vociferously and fight these systems with all might as an organised movement?

Guru Govind Singhji in Zafarnana explained about his raising arms:

Choo kar az hama, har heel tay darguzasht
Halaal ast burdan ba shamsheer dast
(having failed after trying all other means,it's righteous to raise the sword taking it out of the sheath)

Perhaps recent instance of on the spot punishment metted out to suspects and criminals by the raging public though illegal is a pointer.

Lets' put our mind together if we care for our country

Thanks Yayaavar for initiating once again a very thought provoking discussion. In fact you have covered almost all the ills that are responsible for the present state of affairs. I have also posted a poet’s depiction of this situation here on FOTN at this link.

This is true that we are being suppressed by a variety of forces which are the outcomes of the British rule of over two centuries. (or as I put it..foreign rule of over a millennium). Our entire system has become rotten and needs a complete overhaul which cannot be brought about without the willingness or efforts on the part of the majority of the population.

If we analyse from an individual’s angle, there are two methods of surviving in such situations. The easier one that is followed by the majority is “to become a corrupt yourself if others are corrupt”. I have seen thousands of cases where people just get away with a simple argument, “If all are thieves, then why should I become Harishchandra?”
The another method ofcourse is to rebel against the system. If we start a discussion we will have a very handful of people to quote, who have rebelled against this monstrous corrupt system and unfortunately had been lone-crusaders throughout their lives with no followers and many of them fell prey to the corrupt system.

If we look at the history, such situations gradually worsened and resulted into bloody revolutions. All this happens when a majority unites and rises against a System. To rebel in the present scenario would definitely require the following:-

That all the right thinking Lone-crusaders unite themselves
Unitedly they spread their message and create followers and take leading role for themselves, being prepared for any sacrifice.
Pickup the rotten area one by one and start Cleansing operations
Spread their operation and achieve the ultimate goal.

All the above mentioned steps appear to  be slow and would require a very great deal of patience on the part of everyone but the effect will be long-lasting.

A BIG NO in democracy!! :) Also we live in society so there are more civilized way than killing someone or harming our own country and it's people just for our objective :)+K yayaavar

sugarnspice:
There has to be a revolution without the use of violence to bring about change, in the system. You are right that the present system of government, education, policing is bad! People need to be able to vote for better leaders, but with vote banks, it is difficult.

SEEN  ur poem.very trouching heart rendering.posted my comments.
By nature we indian are very tolerating and unrebellious people. That explains that among the oldest civilizations of the world, ours' is the only civilisation which was ruled by foreigners for almost a millennium.
We shall continue to suffer in the name of democracy.
Where is democracy by the way?
Where is the involvement of people in meeting their aspirations of free nation.?
Whether Parliament and state assemblies are doing any good for the people at large.?
Manmohansingh's main interest from day one has been of survival and complete 5 years as PM which he got as charity from SG for the intervening period till prince designate another Gandhi takes over the rulership from him .
every now then communist from outside and some ministers inside are black mailing the government on one issue or the other and we call it people's government. It kills people who raise their voice against wrong policies like Britishers used to kill slave Indians.
yes I agree with ur observation"If we analyse from an individual’s angle, there are two methods of surviving in such situations. The easier one that is followed by the majority is “to become a corrupt yourself if others are corrupt”. I have seen thousands of cases where people just get away with a simple argument, “If all are thieves, then why should I become Harishchandra?”"

And if u want to take up the correct path or challenge a wrong thing then people advise u not become Harish chandra and tell  u to live in Rome as Roman live.
My observation is that we Indians are incapable of having something like French Revolution which changed France great deal.
We are great sufferers on Earth.
Example how We are suffering at the hands of terrorists without whimper.
Even those terrorist who are caught and convicted are not punished.
If an ordinary Indian like me breaks a law he shall be punished
Whether  terrorist are Gods in this country?.
Perhaps they are actually Gods.
