Calangute Beach

Goa Calangute beach is also called the 'Queen of Beaches'. Under the shade of palm trees, bathes the Queen of Beaches-Calangute. Goa's Calangute seems to be a distortion of the local vernacular word-'Koli-gutti', which means land of fishermen. Some people connect it with Kalyangutti (village of art) or Konvallo-ghott (strong pit of the coconut tree) because the village is full of coconut trees.

I remember many years ago walking along Calangute beach towards Baga and we met this old woman who was selling Urack or the second wash of the local Feni.We purchased 6 bottles of Urack and a few fried King fish from her for accompaniment.
Thereafter myself and a friend guzzled the stuff like water,only to discover it had a very late kick.The result I slept without waking up on Calangute, sloshed to the cranium and oblivious to the world.After
downing good spirits all over the world,I still recall that heady experience.So Viva la Goa,the citadel of fun,frolic and Feni......PRINCE

That's really a very nice beach. I love this.I have been planning to visit Calangute Beach since a long time. It is one of the most popular and also most visited beach in Goa.
