Virtual Tour of Malaysia

Genting Highlands

Genting Highlands is a famous mountain resort in Malaysia straddling the border of the states of Pahang and Selangor. It can be reached by car or by the fastest moving cable car of South East Asia (6 m/s).

It is sometimes known as the Las Vegas of Malaysia as it is the only legal land-based casino in Malaysia. The Casinos are run by the Genting Group. Besides the casino, this resort also features many hotels owned by Genting subsidiaries, which is Genting Hotel, Highland Hotel, Resorts Hotel, Theme Park Hotel, First World Hotel, Awana Genting and Ria Apartment. One of them, the First World Hotel has 6,300 rooms, making it the largest hotel in the world. Other facilities in this resort include a theme park, golf course, sky diving simulator and many other diversions.

Genting Highlands functions every year as the finish of a stage in the Tour de Langkawi cycling race. It is one of the longest (30 km) climbs featured in a cycling event.

We were staying at the resort hotel.

You came to Malaysia? I'm staying at Kuala Lumpur, about an hour drive to Genting Highlands. Genting is my MOST FAVORITE in Malaysia!!!

Did you notice that there was a lot of Indians from India there. I realized most of them are newly married couples.

Recently myself and my wife went for a week tour to Malyasia and Singapore. Very nice. In Batu Caves you could have shown the tall Murugan statue. I liked Malaysia than Singapore as real activities are in Malysia. I really liked the TWIN TOWER as it is made of Steel, Glass and Concreat. I touched the stainless steel and felt proud of it.

WOW! It has changed out of all recognition since I was in Malaysia during the confrontation with Indonesia 1964-1996. I received the PJM in UK last year and wear it with pride and fond memories of the Malaysian People. Unfortunately I cannot afford to revisit Malaysia but these photos are exciting and wonderful. God bless that lovely country and its people!
