Holi, which is a significant festival in any A-lister dramatic Bollywood film, has undergone a makeover over the years. The celebrations, which included lavish parties with the who’s who of Bollywood celebs in attendance, have noticeably diminished. Well, those were the days when Bollywood came together as one big family, but now that seem as the days of yore. This Holi, we talk about few annual parties who have their own trademark.
1) The Akhtars
The celebrations at Shabana Azmi’s sprawling Juhu residence is one of the most talked about Holi parties and is a big hit
amongst the A-listers. The tradition has apparently been said to have started 40-years-ago by her late father Kaifi Azmi.
We think Farhan Akhtar’s memorable success with Bhaag Milkha Bhaag can be a good reason to get drenched in colours this Holi. This one is a treat for the shutterbugs.
2) The Bachchans
Though the Bachchans have stopped hosting Holi parties ever since Amitabh Bachchan’s mom Teji Bachchan started keeping unwell, their bashes at the Juhu residence, Pratiksha still remain everyone’s favourite Holi memory.
And why not, after all, they defined grandeur in every way possible.
3) The Zoom Holi Party
Glitz, glamour, revelry and a horde of celebrities - both TV and films - that’s Zoom’s annual Holi party for you.
Initiated in the year 2006, Zoom’s Holi celebrations have been a success ever since.
Celebrities from both the small and big screen attend the festivities in large numbers, the Zoom Holi party is the current most happening party of the town.
4) The Kapoors
Talking of celebrations, none can be complete with the mention of the parties hosted by the original showman Raj Kapoor.
Those were the memorable days when the man himself started the concept of Holi parties at his RK studios, where everyone used to turn up in large numbers to celebrate. Of course those glorious days are long in the past.
