DD to have live telecast of Olympics

NEW DELHI: Beijing Olympics Games will be telecast live by the national broadcasting agency Doordarshan on its DD-1 and DD Sports channels from August 8.

The channel will telecast live all events featuring Indian participants and also have a customised commentary, a press release said here on Thursday.

The opening ceremony will be telecast from 5:30 pm to 9:05 pm on August 8 while closing will be shown from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm on national channel DD-1.

LIVE ACTION FROM BEIJING
(8th – 24th August, 2008)

Doordarshan will telecast Live the Beijing Olympics – 2008 from Beijing on the National Channel (DD-1) and the DD Sports Channel.  The Live anchoring/ discussion will be telecast Live from 5.30 PM followed by the Opening Ceremony. The Opening Ceremony of the Beijing Olympic – 2008 will be telecast from 5.30 PM to 9.05 PM or till the end of the Opening Ceremony.  The Closing Ceremony of the Beijing Olympic, 2008 will also be telecast Live from 5.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. or till the end on 24th August, 2008 on the the National Channel (DD-1) and DD-Sports. The details of the events to be telecast from 8th August to 24th August, 2008 are as under: -
